Re: Suicide Note to be Published by R.S.
Thu, September 8, 2005 - 3:02 PMA fake I suspect, there is so much more to Hunters death than a tired, bitter old man. More is coming out about Jeff Gannon all the time as is info about the 9/11 facts, the two stories Hunter was working on at the time of his death. Only time and moe evidence will make this really clear, we'll see. -

NEW YORK
Rolling Stone, the magazine that was home for years to Hunter S. Thompson, will publish a note written by the gonzo journalist days before he committed suicide in February.
Douglas Brinkley, the presidential historian who is also Thompson's official biographer, writes that a Feb. 16 note may be Thompson's final written words. It reads:
"No More Games. No More Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming. 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always bitchy. No Fun _ for anybody. 67. You are getting Greedy. Act your old age. Relax _ This won't hurt."
Hunter left the note for his wife, Anita. He shot himself four days later at his home in Aspen, Colo., after weeks of pain from a host of physical problems that included a broken leg and a hip replacement.
Written in black marker, the note was titled, "Football Season Is Over."
Brinkley writes in the magazine, on newsstands Friday, "February was always the cruelest month for Hunter S. Thompson. An avid NFL fan, Hunter traditionally embraced the Super Bowl in January as the high- water mark of his year. February, by contrast, was doldrums time."
Most of Thompson's early writings appeared in Rolling Stone. In pieces of great length, he often portrayed himself as a wildly intoxicated observer and participant.
The writer's ashes were blown into the sky in Woody Creek, Colo., amid fireworks on Aug. 20.

Re: Suicide Note to be Published by R.S.
Wed, June 28, 2006 - 8:41 PMI can't help but wonder ALSO, Patrick. As a former DC resident I've heard all kinds of sick little stories about the twisted goings on in that burg. Everything from cops into Devil Whorship, the Secret Service muscling bike messengers, Capitol Police Cheifs being suspended for complaining about MANDATORY over time, to the K Street Crowd openly bragging in public resteraunts that "truth is for LITTLE people," something is MORE than rotten in The District. Considering that NO ONE saw him do it, and as I said in another post on this board, voices on cell phones can be faked, I can't help but wonder... -
